PADDLE CANADA KAYAKING COURSES

Flatwater Kayaking

The Flatwater Level is designed to introduce the novice or relatively inexperienced kayaker to paddling. The emphasis is on mastering the fundamentals of kayaking, along with a strong grounding in water safety and safe kayaking practices. Participants may paddle either a river kayak or sea kayak for this course.

Rocking, Rolling and Rescue on the Lake
Specialized Skills Development  Take your Flatwater skills to the next level, fundamental skills will be honed with an emphasis on efficiency and precision. Course will introduce partner and self rescue techniques as will as advanced strokes and the kayak roll.
  • Prerequisite: Flatwater level or equivalent skills

Whitewater Weekend (PC River 1)
The River Kayaking Level 1 course is designed to introduce participants to the thrill of paddling in moving or 'white' water. Emphasis is placed on the principles of moving water and kayaking safety.

O.R.C.A CANOEING LESSONS

Flatwater A, B, C & D
The Flatwater Level is designed to introduce the novice or relatively inexperienced canoeist to paddling. The emphasis is on mastering the
fundamentals of canoeing along with a strong grounding in water safety and safe canoeing practices.

Canoe Tripping 1
Canoe Tripping Level 1 provides an introduction to canoe tripping for those with little or no tripping experience. Emphasis is on wilderness canoe camping skills and safety.

Lakewater 1
Designed to perfect tandem paddling skills and continue the development of solo paddling skills.

General Information

DROP-IN CANOE AND KAYAK FOR  MEMBERS  ($2/hour)
Anyone with a membership will be able to drop in from 1:00 pm-8:30 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am-3:00 pm for unsupervised paddling.

Rentals are now available Monday to Friday 8:30 am-8:30 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am- 3:00 pm.
